I have a couple of tattoos. I understand they are not for everyone and that is ok!
But, they give me an idea of what God is saying in Isaiah. Engraved!
When you get a tattoo, it is not going away. I look at my tattoos and remember my mom. I look at another tattoo, and I remember my children and grandchildren! I look at those and my attention goes to them! They (because of the tattoos) are always on me and I see them all the time. I remember them!
This "picture" of God saying we are engraved on the palms of His hands tells me that He does not forget us, He sees us always, He remembers us constantly. That is comforting and encouraging! A tattoo is a commitment--and being engraved tells me the Lord is committed to never leave us. His love is wide and deep!
This is what I want to share with our friends in Kenya. To be known, to be seen, to know they are children of the Most High and loved beyond measure.
We are already praying and planning for another visit to our Kenyan family. Would you please pray for God's wisdom and leading and direction. If you feel God pulling you to come with us, I would love to talk to you more about that. Building relationships---REALationships is our mission. Growing in relationship with Jesus and each other. Sharing with each other the truth that they are loved, they are worthy, they are forgiven, they are His. We are His. He has us engraved in the palm of His hand.
Let that soak in.
He knows our name. Go ahead and look at your palm. With all its lines and maybe some callouses. Picture God's hand right next to yours. Maybe His hand is bigger or wider. Picture your name on His palm.
How does that make you feel?
Maybe you smiled.
Maybe you gave a sigh of peace.
Now, pray with us that God will direct and provide so we can hold onto our kid's hands in Kenya, and share with them the love of Jesus.
Thank you for your kindness and thoughtfulness. Your prayers are a gift! May God bless you indeed!
