Get a Fix!

When I look in the eyes of these girls and other students at Calvary Hope, I don't always see confidence or a strong self-esteem. Too often I see sadness, darkness, and insignificance.

We want to "fix" this and make it right. Even in our own lives and our family's, we want to fix this brokenness and sadness that takes away hope. But can we?

You have been so faithful in your giving to improve lives and we cannot thank you enough! Our prayer is that God will reward you abundantly for your selfless generosity! We are witness to what God is doing through you and what He has yet to do---and it's big! As big as the next floor of our school! Bigger than the whole school!

Will another floor "fix" the low self-esteem and darkness? Will a dorm room for our girls who struggle with insecurity and doubt fix life for them? Will computer classes embed a better mindset in our students?

Here's what I think....Don't get distracted whether or not these "things" work. Instead, we find Hope when we FIX our eyes on Jesus.

"People with their minds set on You (fixed on You), You keep completely whole, Steady on their feet, because they keep at it and don't quit. Depend on God (Fix yourself on God) and keep at it because in the Lord God you have a sure thing." Isaiah 26 (MSG)

If we want our students to find hope and find out who they really are, we are going to love extravagantly and generously. Because REALationships is what it is all about. Speak life and pray continuously.

Do we continue to give and support education and growing the school so more children have the opportunity to hear about the indescribable love of Jesus? Absolutely!

When it comes to Jesus, our job is to BE LOVE. And when we fix our eyes on Him, He shows up in big and small ways. He may ask us to get "fixn" and support the buildings or the Teachers, the Feeding Program, text books, and praying for Mentors.

So we won't overcomplicate it. We "depend on God and keep at it because in the Lord God, you have a sure thing."

Our prayer for these girls and for all of us is to look to Jesus. Seek Him and follow Him.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Never rely on what you think you know. Remember the Lord in everything you do, and He will show you the right way." Proverbs 3:5

Thank you for showing generous love through your prayers and your giving. God is not finished with this story of impact and grace and you are written in this story!

"So let us not become tired of doing good; for if we do not give up, the time will come when we will reap the harvest." Galatians 6:9

We thank God for you!
