Tomorrow is New Years Day 2021! Some of us may be sleeping in cozy and comfortable. Some of us may be planning our brand new year with fresh opportunities and setting positive habits. But, I know a couple of people that will be braving the cold blast of one of Michigan's Great Lakes!
Scott McLennan, Mayor of Rogers City, MI, and Kim Margherio decided that they were going to do something out of the ordinary to help our ministry Kenya REAL. And what better way to bring attention and raise support for our kids going to Calvary Hope School in Kenya then to plunge themselves into the ice-cold, breath-taking waters of Lake Huron!
Setting this commitment in "stone" by posting it on FaceBook, Scott challenged others to support him in this remarkable feat. And sure enough, friends are encouraging them and supporting Kenya REAL at the same time. Right now as of this writing, $500 has been raised supporting the Teachers, children, and Calvary Hope School!
These Donor gift givers are bringing more hope to these kids. All kids deserve an education and when our Kenyan children are at Calvary Hope, positive change happens. They grow into who God made them to be with a purpose. If these children come to school hungry, they are guaranteed to get two hot meals each day!
Scott is boldly braving the cold to be a voice for these kids in Kenya that are often forgotten. Thank You for supporting Scott and Kim. And someone please have some warm towels ready for them!!
