Gratitude. Thanksgiving. Celebration

Gratitude. Celebration. Thanksgiving..... All words that describe what is happening at our school, Calvary Hope in Kenya. It is now open and kids are filling the desks.

Bob Goff says, "Heaven's been leaning over the railing waiting to see what we will do with our love."

What you are doing is lifting up our family in Kenya in prayer. What you are doing is giving to make sure our kids get to eat two meals a day. What you are doing is empowering Evelyn, one of our cooks.

Evelyn is a Jesus servant. She has kids of her own and loves to make sure that our children at Calvary Hope get their stomachs filled with nutritious food. The work of her hands are gestures of love.

I have had the privilege of cutting veggies right next to Evelyn. There's no cutting board so to cut the cabbage, onions, tomatoes, or potatoes, you hold onto said object and then start cutting. Me, I'm focused on not cutting off a limb but Evelyn chats away. She smiles that big beautiful smile and doesn't miss a beat. I realize that I am on holy ground. Evelyn is a servant of Jesus serving others in His name.

Evelyn's willing hands prepare these meals for our kids every day, twice a day during the week. Celebrate with us. We have hearts filled with gratitude to our Heavenly Father for providing, leading, guiding, and blessing Calvary Hope. He is using you to help serve.

Thank you for giving to feed our kids. Thank you for supporting in love and caring about our family in Kenya, showing them that they are not alone.

“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” Matthew 11:28-30
